No because drugging someone to the point of overdose is no prank, it’s felony. I am no Serena stan but watching that episode where she isn’t sure of her actions and is forced to doubt herself is so unfair.

There had to be tougher repercussions for this because what the hell?

I know a lot of people say they agree with the writers' decision to leave Nate as the only single main character at the end of the show, but if he had ended up with someone, who do you think he would've chosen? Who do you think would've actually been the best for him?

I relate with Jenny. My parents shifted me from a very small school with all students from middle-class families to a big school of rich students. It was hard to fit in at first. But to be able to hang out with these girls, and to have a friend circle, I pretended to be rich. I used to sometimes steal money from my parents wallets to afford the places we used to go to. I was ashamed of inviting them to my place after seeing their huge houses. I would try to help them with their studies, projects etc just to be friends with them and to hang out. While my friends had huge wardrobes full of clothes, I didnt. So seeing their pictures, I would just go to shopping malls and try on clothes and put stories on my instagram to make it look like I was shopping 😭😂 My brother did warn me sometimes that these people were not really my type, but I didnt listen 🥹

Now that I’m grown up, I feel sad that I had to do those things to feel accepted. But I was 16 and stupid. I just wanted to fit in, and not look like a loser.

But yes, I see why Jenny did some things to fit in so hard. And maybe we shouldnt be so hard on her for this.

I think that she had good values and she adds a different dynamic to the cast. But her holier than thou attitude is getting tired. She judges Dan, Nate and Blair constantly while doing the same things. She sabotaged Nate and Jenny’s relationship. Messed up Olivia’s opportunity to give the freshman speech. THEN proceeded to set Blair up recording her talking. She always does the most trifling shit in the name of underprivileged justice. She exposed the Lord to get back at Blair cause she wasn’t doing enough. And whenever she does trifling things to people it’s like all is forgiven. What she did to Olivia and Dan was so trifling. That is your best friend and you sabotaged his relationship to give some little speech and then they just moved on like nothing happened. She is nasty..

I like gossip girl and I’m on a rewatch since it was newly dropped to Netflix… currently on the start of season 5 and I just have to rant for a minute.

Sometimes it is SO aggravating that no one can just mind their own damn business lol. In the last two episodes alone we have: - Vanessa sharing Dan’s book despite him explicitly saying she shouldn’t - Serena forcing “Charlie” to pay for their new apartment (that they don’t get) and when Serena learns that the check bounces, instead of being a normal person and maybe calling “Charlie,” she shows up at her apartment to ambush her about how she was “cut off” - Dan running to Blair to tell her Chuck is hurting himself (which I somewhat get but he already told Nate and Blair didn’t need this info) - Dan demanding Blair tell him what’s up with her in a bathroom and he refuses to leave where she ends up having to throw up in front of him AND admit that she’s pregnant to him bc he won’t freaking leave her alone

There’s so much more than even what I’ve listed here. I swear everyone is just CONSTANTLY in other people’s business or rushing to tell someone information they don’t really need or something that’s going to hurt them. And then other times when there is actual important information they lie about those things.

I get this whole thing is the premise of the show and maybe it’s because I’m older since I last watched but omg sometimes I just want to yell at every character and say CAN YOU NOT?!?!?!?

So I understand that she is a really unlikable character and quite annoying at some times BUT I kinda also understand why she would still pretend to be apart of the Rhodes family even if Carol wasn’t asking her to do it anymore. I kinda grew up without a proper family too and spent a LOT of time by myself especially in my *****age years. I used to feel CRAZY jealous for people with good families who actually spend time together, be together at christmas, celebrate birthdays etc. I remember DREAMING about a family who would actually care and who i could spend time with…

It was clear to me that before Cece’s death and everyone finding out, Charlie wasn’t in it for the money but for the family. If I picture myself in a situation like this I think I would act somewhat the same…

New to the sub so I’m sorry if this is already discussed.

I’m on an annual rewatch and it never dawned on me that the Van Der Woodsens never leave the palace hotel. In season one episode 2 Serena says they are there because Lilly decided she didn’t like the wall color in their real home. But then we never see them or hear of them moving out. It appears to be the same place but then Lilly gets to redecorate it and it’s their home for the entire series?? Do they ever just stop acknowledging it’s the palace or do they just chalk it up to being a Bass? I’ve never thought about it before but it’s so odd and I can’t stop thinking about it now that I’ve noticed 😂

I’m re-watching for the 36426th time, and in the finale when we learn Dan is Gossip Girl, Serena says he wrote not just her, but all of them a love letter. Upon rewatching… no. I can’t agree. I think it started for/because of Serena, but it became a love letter to Blair. (A toxic, stalker, dangerous one. But I digress lol)

I agree that Dan being GG was a terrible ending, and doesn’t make sense with prior plot lines. They tried to line up some inconsistencies from earlier seasons, but it didn’t work. HOWEVER, if it was Dan, then I stand by the fact that it was more of a love letter to Blair and actually he might hate Serena. Some reasons why:

•in season 1 if he was GG that means he posted about Serena’s pregnancy test. The only reason he’d do that to his own girlfriend would be to humiliate her.

•”I used to think S and Lonely Boy were the most boring couple on the Upper East Side” again… do you just actually hate your girlfriend? What the heck man.

•When he steals his laptop back from Serena and posts Blair’s diary pages. This seems like one of those moments that it makes no sense for GG to be Dan, but upon rewatching knowing he is… he’s hurt she’s been lying and wanted to expose it all. Remember the things he did above to his ex-gf…

•when he sent the GG blast about Blair and Chuck being together when Blair was supposed to be with Louis. He went on and on that episode about Blair being happy, but he didn’t actually want that. He wanted Blair to be alone, because he still loved her.

•when he shut down GG after Blair and Chuck’s accident. He felt responsible for blasting the tip that caused the accident and Blaire’s miscarriage, and ultimately for a brief moment, his love for Blair won over his need to write himself into this story. He never acts like it, but it’s the only explanation.

•he then used this as an opportunity to slide into her life and become her confidant. Made her feel he was the only person she could be honest and vulnerable with.

•when Blair sent GG the fake Serena diary entry to jeopardize her summer job. Dan would know this was fake, and posted it anyway. Only explanation here is he always low key hated Serena and loved Blair

Additionally, all of the dream sequence scenes in the beginning of episodes are from Blair’s point of view. She is clearly the main character even though early Season 1 makes you think it’s Serena

There’s a handful more I forgot over the course of writing this. But I stand by it 😌

Why was everyone so mad that Chuck had ***** with Jenny? Was it because she was *****? I can’t remember if she was still playing a 16 year old at the time? Rufus, Dan and Eric acted like he R worded her. Any insight?

Im rewatching the entire series, currently on season 3, and I seriously can’t stand her. All the characters have their little annoying traits but she is by far the worst. I cannot stand the whole her and Nate plot line. How can he not see how manipulative she is, especially after she threw herself at him at his birthday party. Ahhhhhhh.

Re watched like 10k times and this is the first time this thought has occurred to me but how didn’t Blair realize there was something weird going on between Marcus and Katherine when she confronted Blair and asked there’s not one thing missing? the thing you tell yourself you’d happily sacrifice for the rest? obviously hitting home because Blair and Marcus hadn’t had ***** but why didn’t she think to herself…how the ***** would Katherine know anything about her sons ***** life in that manner or that they hadn’t had ***** yet?? It should have given Blair alarms in her head
